How did you get your PSC nickname?
I took my name from an old Kink's song.

What is your real name and age?
You can call me Locke or Doc or whatever you prefer.

Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
I'm from the Garden State, world renown for clean air and good drivers.

What do you do to keep the bills paid?
Retail. ;_;

What do you do in your spare time?
Anything likely to be dangerous.

How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
I searched googled "photoshop contests." And I like the vot... errr... I mean the people here the most. >_>

If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
Currently? Show the damn numbers for authenticity, humor, etc.!

Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?

How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
I wouldn't want to count.

What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
www.poe-news.com

What tools do you use to chop?
Crappy PC and PSCS2

What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
First I stare at the source for a while. Sometimes I sketch out my ideas before hand. While I'm chopping, the idea is always evolving, and my final chop usually looks nothing like I intended it to at the beginning.

What inspires you?
My competition.

Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
Generally my psds are the most disorganized things you'll ever see. I use a lot of layers, even for simple things. I only pull out the groups for really complicated chops.

What style of chop do you prefer to create?
Photo-realism and a chop that has a tale to tell.

Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
Clonestamp! I'm a cleanup man myself.

When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
I never have it just right. ;_;

What is the limit to what you will chop?
I wouldn't chop something just to be controversial or hurt someone's feelings, but I don't think there's many things I'd shy away from either.

Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
Learn the pen tool! I don't care what you say about the lasso... it just doesn't compare.

What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
Images in need of a good clean up.

There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
I'm really getting tired of see animations. So few good ones are actually posted. As for all-source, it's fine as long as the final image still has photo-realism. A lot of times people don't pull that off. And I personally like to see outside sources posted along with the chop.

What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
sxc.hu

In your opinion what makes a good chop?
1: Cleanness. No halos around cutouts. No perspective problems. No lighting problems. 2: Would this be interesting if it were just a plain photo? Yes? Then it's a very good chop.

Do you have a system to get things started?
Banging my head into a wall usually works. >_>

Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
Many, many times. I just don't have the skill to pull off a lot of my ideas. Also sometimes I give up after not being able to find the perfect outside source.

After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
I generally jsut post it.

If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
Depends on the fault and how hard it'd be to fix. Sometimes I do.

What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
Well I generally use most of my 25 votes, so it's not too difficult to get my vote. Just show a lot of effort.

Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
I HATE ABSTRACT CHOPS!

Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
A half hour is probably my shortest time spent, and anywhere up to 8 or 9 hours (never in one sitting).

We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
I'll check it fairly regularly if I'm on the computer.

What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?
Low vote ones: http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/84091/natives-are-restless.html and http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/84286/native-american-cats.html I thought those deserved more than that measly amount. High vote ones: http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/86211/glass-table.html and http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/100171/bye-mommy.html

What do you consider your best chop so far?
One of my two political chops: http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/100710/in-ruin.html

What do you consider your worst chop so far?
Easily this: http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/85225/art-gallery.html It's one of the few that I hid from my profile.

Who is your favorite chopper out there and why?
Serious and Meaty. They combine amazing artistic talent with equal photoshop skill. Serious's vectors are always incredible, and his non-vector work is some of the greatest ever posted on PSC. Meaty's montages are just breathtaking. He's the favorite in any contest he enters.

What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?
Abstraction!

What is the best chop of all time?
I think this entry by Rey Rey takes that prize. http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/99559/no-fishing.html Check out my favorites to see more. I've ordered them by preference: http://photoshopcontest.com/favorites/15401/index.html
